History:
Strickly Hip-Hop was founded in 1986 by Alvin McFarlan and veteran Rapper/Producer M.C. Spice (Amir Quadeer Shakir). The partners noticed a void in video music representation for local artists, and decided to provide a media platform for artists in Boston, MA. Strickly Hip-Hop has documented countless showcases, interviews, concerts, rap battles and has aired videos form Boston's best rappers and singers. The video show has been challenged by politicians for being too brash and containing harsh language but Strickly Hip-Hop's mission has always been to provide a platform for artists to express themselves creatively and freely.
Strickly Hip-Hop's first host was co-founder and creative director M.C.Spice. Over the years the #1 uncensored video show has been hosted by many many extremely talented people including Hustle Simmons, model Angela Afrika, Chuck Dogg, Sweat D (of WERS), and B.E.T's Rocsi, just to name a few. Strickly Hip-Hop is always searching for the next Big Host. Someone who will bring fresh new ideas, someone who is destined to be apart of New England Hip-Hop history like the ones who have paved the way before them. Our New host Animocity is no stranger to the New England Hip Hop scene. She brings fresh new ides, is highly energetic and likable with a great personality.
